During the project we trained and worked with twenty volunteers to record audio and film oral history interviews with people who have worked in London’s boatyards. Twenty-nine men and women were interviewed including a shipwright who was apprenticed in Blackwall in 1946, and current apprentices training on the Thames today. Listen to their memories and experiences working in this industry, and the changes that have impacted it over the past seventy years.
