Join this archaeological walk with Dr Fiona Haughey looking at the rich history of the Bankside area.

Learn about how the area was the red-light district in the Tudor period and on the foreshore, evidence can be discovered of the money pots used in the many theatres that were in the area. Examine the structures still visible in the foreshore that describe where people worked and the importance of the river to those that lived nearby.

There is so much to discover and learn along London’s foreshores, so why not join one of our many foreshore walks with leading experts on hand across London!

Essential Information

  • Suitable for ages 12+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
  • Please ensure you wear sensible foot wear as the foreshore is an uneven and sometimes muddy surface
  • Access to the foreshore is by stairs only
