Take a walk with Dr Fiona Haughey examining at close quarters, the site of a shipbuilding and boat repair yard and a bustling wharf-side industry as well as examining timbers from vessels over 200 years old on the Thames foreshore at Bermondsey. Come and see where there is evidence of human activity from over 5000 years ago and decide whether a skeleton of the late medieval period found in 2002 was a victim of murder or accidental death. Look at how modern river work is respecting evidence of the past while safeguarding that of the future.

Essential Information

  • Suitable for ages 12+. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
  • Please ensure you wear sensible foot wear as the foreshore is an uneven and sometimes muddy surface
  • Access to the foreshore is by stairs only
