The lost river of Counters Creek once formed the boundary of Fulham Parish from around the time of the Norman Conquest and, to this day, forms part of the borough’s eastern boundary. This walk will take you along the route of the West London Railway, which was laid over the river in the 1800s, to the site of the canal basin. The river’s course is now a mixture of industry and housing, and passes under the Westway. In Little Wormwood Scrubs, its path is still discernable. In this second walk exploring the river, you’ll also visit Counter Creek’s original course in All Soul’s Cemetery to its origin just outside the cemetery. Hosted by the Hammersmith and Fulham Historic Buildings Group.
