The Walbrook, running from north to south in between the two rises of Ludgate Hill & Cornhill, undoubtedly attracted the Romans who built a fortress here by the side of the Thames. This settlement grew into the London we know today.

London has many rivers but they are often hidden under centuries of development. Arguably none is more important than the Walbrook.

This 3 mile walk traces the Walbrook’s eastern stream from St Leonards church Shoreditch to it’s Thames outflow. Come and hear 2000 years of London history on this Ramblers hosted evening stroll.
