Take a tour through centuries of riverscapes celebrating the stunning vistas, wildlife, and architecture of Richmond in this special exhibition at Orleans House.

For centuries, royalty, aristocracy, artists and visitors have been attracted to the natural beauty of the borough, including the breathtaking view from Richmond Hill and the River Thames, which during the 18th and 19th centuries was bustling with river craft.

This special display of riverscapes brings together some of the highlights from the Richmond upon Thames Borough Art Collection. Come and see paintings of vanished riverside properties including Orleans House (demolished in 1926), stunning watercolours of the Thames’ swan population and a 21st century watercolour of the royal barge Gloriana painted during the Diamond Jubilee year, amongst others.

Take a tour through time in this chronological display and discover Richmond’s riverside riches.
