As part of the Totally Thames Festival, the Steve Faldo and David Pope Barge Races will involve a number of Thames barges being raced under oars on the river between Westminster Bridge and Tower Bridge.

Held annually in memory of Steve Faldo and Dave Pope to commemorate the skills of the traditional Thames Lightermen who moved freight along the Thames up until the 1930s, these races are an awesome feat of strength and technique.

Head to the river to support the modern day lightermen as they pilot their 30- tonne unpowered barges along the Thames.
