On the 24th September 2019, Thames21 and the #OneLess will be sending volunteers to 16 litter collection hotspots on the Thames to count and remove that rising scourge of the world’s rivers and oceans – plastic drink bottles. Last year, we recorded over 3,400 bottles during the event; between July 2018 and June 2019, almost 35,000 bottles were recovered from the tidal Thames.

There are still volunteer spots at Thamesmead, where there is a lovely stretch of foreshore that is sadly blighted by plastic rubbish.
