Experience a snipit of the talk from home if you missed it

Nicola White's description

I'm excited to bring some Thames Revelry and Dining alive tomorrow at the beautiful Woods Quay (home of the Woods' Silverfleet) - as part of Totally Thames. I hadn't realised quite how many finds I had related to food and drink and generally revelry down the ages (food, drink, perfumes and tobacco)! Whilst preparing this talk I have learned so many miscellaneous and fun facts about dietary preferences of various Kings and Queens, not to mention theatre goers and Roman families! I like to think of the Thames as a giant liquid story book, but for now it's a giant sumptuous soup of fascinating foody facts from the past and marvellous mudlarking finds! Those who have secretly always wanted to have a puff on a clay pipe will get the chance - thanks to David Higgins - Chairman of the Society for Clay Pipe Research and The National Pipe Archive. David is one of few who still makes replica clay tobacco pipes "Period Pipes". There is also the chance to experience the divine scent of a perfume created by one of the world's oldest perfume houses - Grossmith. The event for tomorrow is sold out now but is being filmed and so if you dont get to see it tomorrow, you'll get a chance soon
