Come and search the beach and the river walls for evidence of Hammersmith's changing waterfront. Since the 19th century, Hammersmith has been home to a distillery, sugar refinery, lamp factory and water pump factory. On this walk we will search for artefacts that tell us about these Victorian industries that lined the river bank and the people who worked and lived there.
Take a morning stroll with Dr Fiona Haughey and Mike Webber and also discover the importance of the foreshore and the river walls for the continued survival of Thames complex wildlife.
