'Here I Am' is a participatory artwork for all ages and inclinations. For the month of September the public will be asked to respond to the questions ' Where have you been?' and Where are you going?' drawing up their answers on a large map exhibited at The Boathouse Design Studio in Teddington, right by the river and the formidable Teddington Locks.

Using a set of graphic tools they will be encouraged to add the landmarks of their days activities, be it daily routine or day trip; shops, crossing points, benches to sit on, favourite views, modes of transport etc. There will be no scale either spatial or temporal so it will be whatever is considered to be the journey to or from that point. As the month progresses the map will become richer and richer as the everyday stories of peoples journeys are made visible.

In drawing your answers to these questions you will be contributing to an aggregated map of the local area, identifying what are your own personal landmarks and exploring the ways we perceive and understand ourselves in relationship to the river. 'Here I am' has been conceived of by Landscape Architect and Artist Anushka Athique and is being supported by Outerspace UK and The Boathouse Design Studio.

Please note that the start date of this has been delayed from Sun 1 Sep to Mon 9 Sep
