The Brunel Museum proudly presents music, poetry and sound sculpture in a secret underground chamber. Invisible People with surprising stories, a love story in the time of revolution, a choir and a grand piano fifty feet below ground.

Isambard Brunel dans son Cabaret is a week of underground performances combining artists, musicians and acoustic engineers. In 1843 there were fifty thousand visitors on the first day. To stand in the remarkable acoustic of this extraordinary chamber is to understand why they called it the world’s most popular visitor destination.

Line Up:

12 & 13 Sep: Invisible People
3rdthought present the Pierrot Show: theatre, conjuring tricks, poems, short stories and good advice from famous people. Members of the audience decide what will be performed from the company's kaleidoscopic repertoire, freshly honed from shows at UfaFabrik's Boulevard Festival in Berlin.

14 Sep: Angels in Hades
Rotherhithe & Bermondsey Choral Society present holy and unholy music from Elgar and readings with a watery theme.

15 & 16 Sep: Modulus Quartet
Championing music by living composers is the mission and passion of Modulus Quartet. After a sell-out launch, the quartet return to Brunel with a programme of works by Terry Davies, Ash Madni, Richard Norris, Eliot Lloyd Short, Matthew Slater and Veera Lummi. Film-maker Diego Barraza and Video DJ Tom Brown will provide visuals.

17 Sep: Nathan Odgood Trio
Blue River Saturday - Thames music, ebb & flow. The concert will be followed by cocktails in the rooftop garden.
