Jubilant is 21 this year!

Jubilant is 21 this year!

Jubilant is 21 this year and to-Commemorate the occasion we are repeating the first journey which started at - Isleworth with a flotilla of rowing cutters to Greenwich. We have the support of the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) at Teddington, which is entrusting a Strontium Ion Clock to us to deliver to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich Park.

Millennium Bridge

Setting off from Isleworth at 11.00 and arrive Greenwich at 15.00, the best places to see this is Millennium Bridge around 14.00 (approx, dependent on tide).

This Strontium ion clock which “ticks” 400 million million times a second, invented at the NPL in 2004 is already out of date.

The Worshipful Company of Clockmakers will intercept the flotilla, as they did during the first voyage which was during the Thames Festival, to ensure it is not faulty.

Our first voyage carried a Caesium clock for the NPL, and the Jubilant Trust is honoured to be asked to carry out this very green transportation again.
