Join mudlark Monika on a breakneck gallop through an A-Z of mudlarking finds, as she presents one glorious find for each letter of the alphabet. Inspired by Dr Johnson’s ground-breaking Dictionary, this talk was first given at Dr Johnson’s House last autumn, and now comes to the Bargehouse, right here on the banks of the River Thames. This talk is stuffed full of London lore, an A-Z of treasure and trash, history and fable, with our beautiful River Thames flowing forever through it.

Monika Buttling-Smith is a life-long Londoner and a licensed mudlark, who visits the foreshore whenever she can. Monika administrates the Facebook mudlarking community sites River Thames Mudlarking Finds, and Thames Foreshore Finds, is a member of Thames & Field, and has trained as a Thames Discovery FRoG volunteer. Monika is incredibly proud of the mudlarking community, the help, support and advice which is so kindly shared amongst mudlarks, and hopes this talk will reflect that. Her finds can be seen on her Instagram account.
