Partners
Hundreds of young people from river cities around the world embark on an appreciation of their local waterfront. Then, working under guidance from professional artists, they create huge artworks inspired by their river. You can see the finished pieces from the UK, Taiwan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on the walkway by the National Theatre, by Tate Modern, by Tower Bridge, London Bridge City Pier, More London and in City Hall.
Rivers of the World is led by artist Shona Watt and includes a group of inspirational artists in partner cities including Claire Collison, Pete Gomes, Caroline Collinge & Edmond Salter (UK), John M Atienza (Philippines), Lalith Senanayake (Sri Lanka), Shehzad Shahriar Chowdhury (Bangladesh) and Meng-Chia Lai (Taiwan).
Rivers of the World is the Thames Festival Trust's flagship, year-round, international education programme, delivered in partnership with the British Council.
I am so happy to join this project, really impressive! It is also very exciting that our artwork will be exhibited alongside the Thames River to help promote the importance of protecting the environment and preserving our natural resources.

Rivers of the World artworks are exhibited on boards along the South Bank: The Queen's Walk, by National Theatre, SE1 9PX; by Tate Modern, SE1 9TG; by Tower Bridge, SE1 2AA; at More London, SE1 2DB; and by London Bridge City Pier
