Cruise aboard the Lady Daphne, one of London's most famous wooden sailing vessels. Includes two Tower Bridge lifts!
Lady Daphne is one of the most famous of London's classic wooden vessels still sailing. 91 feet long (28 meters), 21 feet wide (6.5 metres), built in 1923 at a gross tonnage of 117 tonnes, able to transport 220 tonnes of cargo, Lady Daphne was one of the many thousand Thames sailing barges built for the English coastal trade from the 18th century until the middle of the 20th century.
There are fewer than 30 sailing barges left in Britain, only six wooden barges with passenger certificates, and only two in London. You can live history during a Thames cruise aboard the Lady Daphne, one of thousands of red-sailed ships dominating London's skyline in the days before road transport – and to top it all, Tower Bridge will be raised twice especially for you.
