Get your wellies on and don your rubber gloves for this great river clear-up organised by Thames21 – the voice of London’s waterways.

The Big Thames Tidy - Gabriel's Wharf

Sunday 31 August: 10.30am - 1pm

Scores of volunteers will descend on the foreshore in central London for this two-day tidy: one of the biggest events of its kind held on the river. You’ll have great fun as you join other like-minded people to make London’s river look even lovelier than it does already! Enjoy a unique perspective of the London and learn more about the river.

Cleaner Thames Challenge - Isle of Dogs

Monday 1 September: 11am - 1.30pm

Clean-up one of the most littered stretches of the Thames at the Isle of Dogs. This site is plagued by embedded plastic bags and all sorts of debris that end up in our waterways. Litter such as plastic poses a direct threat to river and marine wildlife which can ingest, choke on or become entangled in it.

Thames21 works hand in hand with communities to improve rivers, canals and ponds for social and environmental benefit through practical, educational and awareness raising projects. Its committed volunteers enhance, protect and fight for the capital’s wide network of waterways, which provide vital habitat for wildlife and much needed green space in one of the most densely populated areas in Europe.
