A spectacular swim adventure in the tides of the River Thames. Our swims are for experienced open-water swimmers looking to enjoy some time in the water.

These are social group swims, followed by a social session at the Black Lion pub, Hammersmith. The swims are governed by the tides, so we enter together just before high water, which varies in time. We swim with the last of the rising tide and swim towards Chiswick Eyot, just as the tide turns. We then return with the first of the outgoing tide. Total distance is about 1.2k over the ground, but we swim a lot less through the water, as the tide takes us in both directions. It is not a race and times are not relevant. Traditionally, most people have swum without wetsuits or tow floats, but both are acceptable.

Times are provisional and are subject to change dependent on high tides and water conditions. Swims may be cancelled at the last minute as a result of poor water quality following a period of heavy rain. We highly recommend that you follow our Facebook page to be kept up to date with any changes.

Meeting Point: The swim starts and finishes at the steps next to the Black Lion pub.

Additional Information: Whilst we endeavour to provide a safe environment for swimming, all swimmers are swimming at their own risk.
