Thames Lens 2021 was announced in June with the theme 'My Thames Vision' and we have already received some amazing entries. We are thrilled to announce that the Illuminated River Foundation have joined Thames Lens 2021 with the introduction of a new category and a host of prizes.
Spanning nine bridges from Lambeth to London Bridges, Illuminated River is a long-term art installation transforming the Thames at night with an orchestrated series of light works in central London. Its subtly moving sequences of LED light symbolically unify the Thames bridges, drawing inspiration from the spirit and history of the river, and from the architectural and engineering heritage of its bridges.
“We’re delighted that Illuminated River has been chosen as the subject of Thames Lens. As London’s new public artwork, the longest in the world, we hope it will inspire budding photographers to use their creativity and fresh eyes to capture and celebrate the artwork, the bridges, and the Thames. We can’t wait to see the results!”
