Today, most know Southwark for the tourist destinations, but there is a much more sordid and dark history... For 2000 years ‘South of the River’ has been a wild place of vice. We know the men behind this history, but what about the women? Enter: "Lydia Clamydia", Your Roman Guide! Lydia will guide you through Southwark’s HERstory and bring to life its colourful past. You will meet pagan goddesses, brothel madams, nuns and even a supernatural entity of folklore on this 2 hour walk. There will even be a chance to have a tipple at a hidden 'local' pub at the end.
