River of Hope is an arts-based learning project linking schools around the world through the study of rivers and environmental issues.
Building on the success of our Platinum Jubilee project last year we are re-launching River of Hope in 2023.
Over the next two years we will be working with 40 UK primary schools from Newham (London), Tees Valley, Norfolk and Plymouth. These primaries will be partnered with schools in Rouen (France) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). Schools will be taken on a journey, where they will get the opportunity to take part in a hands-on river workshop, work alongside a professional artist who will impart new skills and techniques for future application and have access to a host of resources aimed at empowering teachers to tackle climate change issues.
The culmination of the work produced will be shown as flag displays at major national festivals as well as being part of an project online gallery.
In addition, we are working with five Leeds secondary schools in partnership with Leeds23 and you will be able to view the wonderful work they have created below.
