Barnes Film Festival is excited to launch a brand-new film event, taking place in Barnes. The festival will showcase young filmmaking talent from schools, colleges and universities across the UK, together with award-winning films from around the world.
In its first year, the Festival is proud to announce a green theme. Filmmakers under the age of 25 are invited to participate in our Filmmaking Competition, which aims to support and discover young filmmaking talent. The shortlisted films, which must have a green theme, will be judged by a panel of leading industry experts, and the winning films will be screening at the BFI.
Barnes Film Festival celebrates diversity, passion and creativity, and connects all young filmmakers - and anybody interested in film - with industry professionals. As well as our Filmmaking Competition, the Festival will host inspiring film events for all, including workshops, discussions, screenings and gatherings, with leading figures from the film, documentary and animation industries.
Whether you're a young filmmaker wanting to enter our Filmmaking Competition, or a film fan looking to discover something new, there's something at Barnes Film Festival for you! Come along to our first ever Festival and be part of something fantastic.
