Come and take part in a Thames bonanza of events - the firing of pots on a fire like our ancestors did, an archaeological stroll along the foreshore, and learning about the fish still to be found in our famous River Thames!

Join archaeologist Dr Fiona Haughey, artist Edith Slee, Thames 21 and the Institute of Fisheries Management on London's famous river for a plethora of activities available for all of the family to enjoy.

  • Firing of pots on a fire of Thames driftwood from midday- 4pm
  • Archaeological walks along the foreshore at 1pm and 2pm
  • Artefacts from the river for you to handle from midday - 5:30pm
  • A seine netting to show what currently lives in the Thames and environmental information about the river that may surprise you

Ahead of this event join us on Monday 22 August from 11am for a Potmaking Workshop. Come and make a pot just like our prehistoric ancestors would have made, ready to fire it on a bonfire during the Firing On The Foreshore.
