Discover the stories of once-famous women swimmers, from 19th-century teenagers Agnes Beckwith, Annie Luker and Marie Finney, to 20th-century long-distance stars Lily Smith, Eileen Lee and Ivy Hawke. Join Caitlin Davies, author of Downstream: a history and celebration of swimming the River Thames, for an illustrated talk on six forgotten aquatic champions. Which clubs did they belong to, what records did they set, why was their legacy lost and how have they been rediscovered?
