A rare opportunity to enjoy a group swim in the tidal Thames with escort craft.

Swimmers will enter the water 10-15 minutes before high tide and be helped upstream along Chiswick Mall by the current. After the tide turns, you will return round the Chiswick Eyot on the ebb tide. In total, the swim is likely to take 20-30 minutes and water temperature will be about 16 degrees Celcius.

Not a race and no prize for being the fastest. 100 swimmers will receive a souvenir swimhat so prebooking is recommended. Wetsuits are permitted.

After the swim, join Poet in the City for an evening of poetry and discussion, The River's Voice: The Poetry of Wild Swimming features poet Jo Bell and poet-author Andrew Fusek Peters. (Swim ticket £5, Poetry evening tickets £7.50, ages 12+, Poetry evening and Swim tickets £12.50. Spectators can watch for free from Upper Mall Open Space)
