The little known history of Waterloo Bridge (aka The Ladies Bridge) will be celebrated with live performances, film and large scale photographic projections by Karen Livesey and Concrete History on the National Theatre's fly tower of trail-blazing female construction workers who re-built the bridge during World War II.

The Ladies Bridge Film Screening & Panel Discussion, BFI Southbank
The Ladies Bridge explores why the female bridge builders who rebuilt Waterloo Bridge during the Second World War and 24,000 other female construction workers have been written out of history. Join director and producer Karen Livesey for this special screening followed by a panel discussion with the film makers and industry professionals including representatives from Historic England and Tideway, the new company delivering London’s ‘super sewer’. The event will be hosted by Totally Thames Director Adrian Evans.
