The city that emerges from our 200-film, three-month season is at once historic and imaginary, deeply familiar and yet strange before our eyes. From July to September, a century of filmmaking will be shown, capturing changes to the city across the decades. In Soho, once London’s vibrant, alternative heart, now at risk of losing its edge, we meet our upperclass and underclass, high culture and subculture, coming face-to-face with a re-imagined city through a summer of retrospective cinema.
