Join us for an evening of entertainment and inspiration in a historic riverside location.Your journey begins by boat. A clipper will collect you from London Bridge City Pier and ferry you along the Thames, where you can enjoy a drink on deck and experience the sights and sounds of central London from a unique and watery perspective.
On arrival at buzzing Docklands’ arts hub Trinity Buoy Wharf, you’ll be welcomed to the historic Grade II-listed Chainstore, built in 1854 and connected to London’s only lighthouse.
Then begins a different type of voyage. You’ll be transported, moved and entertained by our five brilliant speakers, each celebrating the creative spirit of London and its river through their own personal passion.
Line-up includes: Richard Wilson, sculptor, installation artist and musician; Rachel Lichtenstein, historian, artist and author, who will reveal the stories of the myths and people of the river gleaned through her extraordinary immersive project, Estuary; Inua Ellams, poet, playwright, performer and all round creative dynamo, will share some personal words on water in his own magnetic style; author of Downriver, Iain Sinclair will share the fascinating history of the Thames and what the river means to him; and Orlando Seale music-maker for our turbulent times, will perform his river-inspired music.
In addition Ik-Joong Kang will speak with Thames Festival Trust's Director Adrian Evans LVO about Floating Dreams, Kang's headline artwork for Totally Thames 2016.
