Rivers of the World is our international art and education project delivered in partnership with the British Council connecting pupils around the globe to their local river through environmental, economic and cultural learning and themes.
Young people aged 12 to 14 from across the world inspired by their research and guided by professional artists, who have been trained by our lead artist Shona Watt, create huge artworks for public display.
This year participating schools come from cities including Addis Ababa, Debre Zayit and Bahir Dar in Ethiopia; Lagos in Nigeria; Freetown in Sierra Leone; Hanoi in Vietnam; Kafua in Zambia; Kathmandu and Pokhara in Nepal; and from London, South End, Reading and Hull in the UK.
This year’s exhibition can be seen at City Hall and outside along the riverside pathway at South Bank, Bankside, National Theatre and More London.
