Join a one-day family friendly street party dedicated to Romania old and new, in celebration of the making of United Romania! The event brings together a diverse range of artists, from folk musicians and dancers, craftsmen and stand-up comedians, to renowned artists on Romania’s contemporary scene.

Four times gold Olympic medallist Ivan Patzaichin will lead a fleet of six boats at the Great River Race especially designed and built in the Danube Delta to represent the historical provinces that came together in 1918: Wallachia, Moldavia, Transylvania, Bessarabia, Bukovina and Dobruja. The boats were made by one of the last authentic Romanian woodwork craftsman and are decorated with adornments specific to the six Romanian historic regions.

Ivan Patzaichin, will present the six rowing boats at the event. The grand finale to the day will bring together four alphorn players from the Carpathians joined by the summery synths and explosive beats of renowned DJs Electric Brother and Vlaicu Golcea. The programme will be seasoned with a good dose of humour from London-based stand-up comedian Radu Isac, the host for the day.

The richness of the programme is matched by savoury Romanian dishes that testify to the plentiful tastes and influences that make up the country’s cuisine.
