The Ham Riverside and Avenues are one of the most historic and diverse riparian habitats in London - a real countryside in the city. To manage this special space a team of shire horses is used to cut the vegetation. Volunteers are needed to help assist the shire team to carry out practical conservation tasks. The week-long programme has been specifically designed for Totally Thames and offers the opportunity to learn new skills and work in this unique environment. Full training will be given.
