1 bottle, 200+ miles. Walkers, swimmers, rowers, and more come together in this unique relay, passing a bottle filled with water from the Thames’ source, through the capital, and out to sea.

Following the massive success of the inaugural Source to Sea River Relay in 2013, this already legendary and exciting event returns for another fun journey along the length of the world-famous river. Starting in the rolling hills of Gloucestershire’s serene countryside, a bottle filled with water from the source will be carried over 200 miles, through London, and finally out to sea via the Thames Estuary – linking communities on the river all along the way. Walkers, swimmers, rowers, sailors, traditional boat owners, kayakers and many more groups and individuals passionate about the river will, for two weeks, pass the bottle from hand-to-hand to the outskirts of London. The bottle will start its journey across London on 1st September – the first day of Totally Thames. Each day it will travel across the capital from west to east staying at new and surprising landmarks and venues each night, before being taken down river and out to sea on 30 September, the final day of Totally Thames.
