A lively look at the rise, fall and rebirth of London's docks from ancient history through roaring trade to modern redevelopment.

Our stories will be anchored in two specific docks which our speakers know intimately, St Katharine Docks near Tower Bridge and West India Dock, home to the Museum of London Docklands.

Georgina Young is Senior Curator of Contemporary History at the Museum of London.

Christopher West is author of new book The Story of St Katharine's and an expert on Charles Dickens.
