Simon Moore began his career as a conservator at the Natural History Museum, moving on to establish the Natural Sciences Collections Association in 2003. The skills he learned proved valuable when he started mudlarking in the River Thames, where he found historic knives, penknives and spoons. Moore restored and researched these artefacts, and the knowledge acquired during this period led to a series of influential books on the subject, that he now shares with us.
