Take a leisurely stroll along this delightful stretch of the River Thames with well-preserved Georgian and Victorian houses, historic mansions such as Marble Hill House & York House. Twickenham has been a refuge for French royal exiles and home to a king’s mistress, writers, poets, rugby, movies, rhythm & blues, rowing and Britain’s greatest landscape artist J.M.W Turner whose house we pass. Finish by Twickenham’s classical Thames waterfront and its nearby cafes, pubs and restaurants. Return to London Waterloo from Twickenham station.
