Welcome to our Thames Unlocked Virtual Photography Walk! Lead by award winning photographer Simon Ellingworth and curator & Gallery 1885 Director Kate Coe, join them to learn how to interact with the River Thames through photography - be it on your smart phone, polaroid, or DSLR. Join them along the South Bank from Millennium to Blackfriars Bridge and learn secrets of street photography, easy techniques to make your photos pop and how to take advantage of the photo opportunities the River Thames offers. Plus complete the work in your own time, or even just watch it from the comfort of home
If you do take photos on the walk, make sure you enter them into the Thames Lens photography competition for the chance to win some amazing prizes.
Simon Ellingworth is a multi award winning photography educator. Simon has 2 x images featured in this years ‘International Photography Awards‘, was a finalist in the ‘International iPhone Photography Awards‘, ‘Mobile Photography Awards‘ & ‘Professional Photographer of the Year‘, previously runner up in ‘Professional Photographer of the Year‘ and ‘Sony World Photography Awards‘. Simon’s tutorials have been published by a number of blogs including Lifehacker, DIY Photography.net, Life in Lofi, SLR Lounge, etc. His limited edition Fine Art Street Photography prints are sold globally by Saatchi galleries, etc. Simon is a passionate educator, a lover of simplicity on both gear and technique and welcomes photographs of all abilities and with cameras from iPhones, mirrorless to DSLRs. He is super welcoming, inclusive and very enthusiastic
Kate Coe is a mentor, curator and internationally exhibiting artist. Kate's background in art, teaching and intuitive psychology plus being from a family of famous Russian artists gives her a unique ability to help photographers transition to becoming artists. She is currently curating at several galleries including London's Gallery1885, home of the Camera Club
